FIRE and police are investigating two motorbike fires that were started deliberately last night.

At 11pm on Sunday, one crew from Cosham fire station were called to Cosham High Street.

A Pizza Hut moped had been stolen and then set alight.

Firefighters used one hose reel to put out the blaze – the moped was completely destroyed.

In a second incident, also at 11pm, one crew from Gosport were called to Forton Recreation Ground, in Forton Road.

They also used a hose reel and the motorbike was 100 per cent fire damaged.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokeswoman said the two incidents are not being linked, but both are being investigated.

She said: ‘Police were called to two incidents at 11pm last night. The fire service was also in attendance.

‘The motorbike from Gosport had been stolen and set alight.

‘We are working with the fire service and investigating them both separately.’
