AN ARSON investigation has been launched after a car was destroyed by fire.

Firefighters were called to Athena Avenue, Crookhorn, at about 1.40am today and found a burning Toyota Celica.

The blaze took about three quarters of an hour to tackle for the crew from Cosham fire station.

A spokesman for Hampshire Fire and Rescue service said: ‘It’s currently under investigation by the police.

‘We believe the cause is doubtful.’
