AN INVESTIGATION into a massive fire in a Copnor warehouse has revealed the blaze was an accident.
It’s still not known what caused the blaze in Scope Crash Repair Centre, Robinson Way, Copnor, but Hampshire Fire and Rescue has ruled out foul play.
The fire broke out on Friday at 7.50pm and numerous explosions took place inside the building.
Two crews from Cosham, three from Southsea, and one from Havant were called to the scene to put out the blaze.
Vans from the neighbouring Portsmouth City NHS Trust site were also burnt out in the incident. More than 90 per cent of the building was destroyed in the blaze.
Yesterday The News reported how the owner, Scott MacDonald, was left ‘shocked and stunned’ by the fire which gutted his premises.
