ARSONISTS have set fire to bins at two high-rise flats in Havant.

Fire crews were called to Solent House and Chichester House, in Lockerley Road, Havant, at 2.30am today.

They found wheelie bins had been set alight and pushed up against both blocks of flats. Nobody was there.

Crews from Havant, Waterlooville, Emsworth and Cosham were called.

They put out the blaze by 3.30am.

A spokesman from Havant Fire Station said that it was the second reported incident of a similar nature at the same flats within two months.

He urged people to be vigilant and to report anything suspicious.

Police were also called and are now investigating.

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
