YOUNGSTERS have no reason to be bored in the holidays with a unique week-long creative summer school.

Making Space, a craft organisation in Leigh Park, is holding workshops led by professional artists.

They are being funded by Havant Borough Council and Hampshire County Council and run from August 13 to 16.

On August 17 the group will hold an exhibition of their work to show friends and family at a private view at 1pm as part of Hampshire Open Studios.

Artist Ami Lowman, from Making Space, said: ‘We try not to theme our workshops, allowing individual ideas and creativity to shine through.

‘What’s really nice about this year is the showcase, giving young people an opportunity to seriously exhibit their work as part of a huge artist event is something a bit different and something for them to be really proud of.’

Community cafe The Hub will provide lunches. Call (023) 9247 2491 or go to makingspace.org to book.
