CAMPAIGNERS have launched a last-minute attempt to save a warship from the scrapyard.

As reported in The News, former Royal Navy frigate HMS Plymouth, the ship which took the surrender of South Georgia in the Falklands conflict, is due to be towed to Turkey for recycling from her current berth in Birkenhead.
