AN ANNUAL awards scheme is on the look out for good neighbours.
Hampshire County Council is calling for nominations for its Good Neighbour Awards to reward good deeds.
The awards were introduced in 2005 by county councillor Ken Thornber, who will host the award ceremony in March.
He said: ‘All too often good deeds can go unnoticed, which is why it is important that we pay tribute to the efforts of Hampshire’s volunteers.
‘There are thousands of good neighbours providing vital support within their community.
‘Anyone who receives help from a neighbour and would like to say thank you should nominate them.
‘These individuals probably don’t think twice about what a wonderful job they are doing for someone else, but deserve thanks.’
Nominations can be made at hants.gov.uk/goodneighbourawards. The closing date for nominations is Monday, January 20.
The award is only open to people living in areas covered by the county council.
