Baby ballet dancers aid Comic Relief

THEY may only be tiny but these little dancers danced around and pirouetted for Comic Relief.

The youngsters at Southsea’s Baby Ballet class wore red outfits for the day to raise money for Red Nose Day.

They looked adorable as they pulled off moves with their favourite teddies, who were also dressed up for the charity.

Red Nose Day is on Friday and already the money is rolling in to help disadvantaged people here in the UK and Africa thanks to events such as the Baby Ballet class.

The classes are for children aged 18 months to five years and incorporate dance, mime and singing.

Dance teacher Dani Bond said: ‘It was so much fun and they looked so cute.

‘It gave the children an opportunity to be a bit silly.

‘Even Twinkle the bear was dressed in red.

‘They do have an understanding of what it’s all about. Comic Relief is an amazing charity.

‘They really enjoyed it and we made lots of money but we are still counting it and the girls absolutely loved putting their donations in Twinkle the Bear’s bucket.’

People all over the area are doing something funny for money.

At 3.30pm today a 100ft dinosaur from the BBC series Walking with Dinosaurs will be at Sainsbury’s, in Farlington.

Customers can have their photo taken with the enormous creature – who will be decked out in red – for a donation to the charity.

That will be followed by a mass Harlem Shake dance in the car park.

There are just four days left to apply for a slice of the £50,000 monster giveaway. Charities and community groups across the area which help out people in need have been invited to apply for a grant of between £500 and £1,000.

But you must act quickly because the deadline is Saturday.
