KIDS are quids in as the result of a supermarket’s bag for life scheme.

Sainsbury’s at Broadcut in Fareham has presented the Fareham-based Kids Young Carers Project with a cheque for £250. Every time one of the bags is bought, a donation is made to a community cause.

Store manager Simon Rowberry said: ‘Our store is at the heart of the local community and it is important that we can do as much as possible to support it.’

Matt Wilkinson, Kids’ fundraising manager said: ‘We are all thrilled. This donation will be used to buy the young people a Wii console and a balance board.’
