RENOWNED for its weird and wonderful food creations, Southwick Village Stores has come up with another creative project.

Taking inspiration from Roald Dahl’s children’s book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the store’s baker Richard Shaw will introduce a golden ticket scheme for his next pasty project.

On Saturday, from 8am, customers will have a chance to snap up a range of prizes if they find a golden ticket inside one of Richard’s special pasties.

The shop has enlisted a range of local businesses to offer more than 30 prizes including two three-day tickets to Wickham Festival in August, a meal for two at Pie and Vinyl in Southsea and £25 off a meal at the Southwick Red Lion.

Richard said: ‘It’s really good for our little economy here, people get the chance to visit some great new places and the businesses raise a bit of awareness about themselves so it’s a win-win.’
