AN ORCHESTRA wowed its audience with its first performance.

The St Mary’s Alverstoke Orchestra played at its namesake church in Gosport.

It was led by the church’s director of music Paul Pilott and played carols in a crib service.

The Rev Andy Norris praised the 14 musicians. He said: ‘They proved to be a very welcome addition to our worship at St Mary’s.’
