PLANS are already afoot for a charity barn dance.

Each year Bands in the Barn is held at Manor Farm, Hayling Island, and tickets for the summer event quickly sell out.

Included in the price of the 21 ticket is barbecue food and dessert as well as the four bands - which are still to be finalised. There is also a cocktail bar.

The date is Saturday, June 18 and tickets will be on sale from Hayling Island Community Centre from April 1.

All money raised at the event has been promised to Hayling Island First Responders - trained first aiders who volunteer to attend emergencies on the island.

The cash will go towards replacing the current response vehicle. The First Responders were called out 643 times to incidents across Hayling last year. The whole operation is run by volunteers and funded by public donations.
