BBC weather girl Alexis Green has joined runners raising money for the region’s children’s hospice at this year’s Great South Run.

Alexis, part of South Today’s weather team, will be pounding the streets of Portsmouth in aid of Naomi House on October 30.

She said: ‘Naomi House is such a vital part of the community for families when they need help through such difficult times.

‘I am proud to be running on their behalf and encourage others to join me.’

Last year more than 100 runners helped raise £20,000 for the hospice, based at Sutton Scotney, when they took on the 10 mile course.
