LIVE music and entertainment will be laid on to raise cash for community projects in Portsmouth.

Musicians including Huw Olesker, Luke Ferre, Lonely Joe Parker and Hannah O’Reilly will perform at The Blue Lagoon at Hilsea Lido in London Road from 1pm to 6pm tomorrow.

Other attractions include face painting, a magician, raffle and stalls.

Cash raised will be split between two projects – Community Fusion and Hilsea Lido for the People Trust. Community Fusion is a new youth volunteering service which works to improve the city while building their life skills. Meanwhile Hilsea Lido for the People Trust is working on reopening the much-loved open-air pool and creating a cultural, sporting and leisure facility for the community.

A spokesman said: ‘Both organisations are keen to work together, bringing volunteers to the lido to help restore, redecorates revive the venue and bring it into the 21st century while keeping all the features of the art deco structure.’

Entry to the event is free but donations are welcome.
