VOLUNTEERS have cleared 18 bags of rubbish from a mile-long stretch of beach.

Twenty-five people took part in Fareham Society’s 17th annual beach clean day.

During the clean-up on Sunday, from Meon Shore in Hill Head to Brownwich stream in Warsash, rubbish collected included bottles, lighters, disposable barbecues and hundreds of plastic bottle tops.
