MORE than 30 firefighters tackled a blaze at a house in Paulsgrove in the early hours of this morning.

The fire broke out in a first floor bedroom of a house in Almondsbury Road, before spreading to the loft space and roof.

It happened at around 3.55am today.

A total of 31 firefighters and five officers attended the scene, coming from stations in Cosham, Portchester, Southsea and Havant.

Two men were taken to hospital with smoke inhalation.

Firefighters left the scene at around 6am.
