THE Royal Marines Charitable Trust benefited from a night of some of the best songs from West End shows.

The choir Achoired Taste, based in Waterlooville, performed at the Church of the Good Shepherd earlier this month.

They raised more than £1,400 by belting out songs from shows such as Beauty and the Beast, West Side Story and Les Miserables.

Ray Hunt, from the choir, said: ‘Each year we do a charity concert and as two of us are former Royal Marines we asked if we could do it for the charitable trust and the committee agreed.

‘It was a great evening and everyone really enjoyed it. We did songs from the big shows.’
