SCORES of people packed in to experience a bigger and even better Emsworth Show.

As the sun shined on Jubilee Recreation Ground, off Horndean Road – where the event was held – visitors had positive things to say about the show.

From ferrets, to a fire engine, a bird display to a bouncy castle slide, there was fun to be had by everyone.

This year’s event introduced a park-and-ride scheme, which meant there was space for more stalls and games.

Emily James, 35, of Jasmine Way, Clanfield, went with husband Sam, 34, and daughter Isobel, two.

She said: ‘We came last year – this year’s show was much better.

‘It was much bigger and there was so much more to do.

‘There’s definitely more here for toddlers to do – Isobel has been on about 10 rides.

‘It’s definitely worth going to – we loved it and thought it was great.’

And a family from Southsea also enjoyed the extra space.

Steve Dalwood, 42, of Leopold Street, Southsea, was there with wife Alexandra, 38, and daughter Zara, one.

Mr Dalwood said: ‘We came to meet up with friends, and thought we would come along to the show.

‘There’s plenty to do – for both kids and adults.

‘I enjoyed seeing the birds of prey and the owls.

‘It’s a lot bigger than I thought it would be – and it’s a really good price as well.

‘We’d come again.’
