A COMMUNITY speedwatch programme to educate speeding drivers is expanding.
Police in Waterlooville are looking to cover more roads and need more volunteers.
PCSO Chris Penfold, from Waterlooville police, said: ‘At the moment we have about 18 volunteers who provide invaluable support to the community.
‘We are trying to expand our scheme with new volunteers so we can hit a wider number of roads and we have now started to get volunteers from as far as the Crookhorn area to assist our volunteers with Waterlooville North team.
‘Our volunteers spend a lot of their valuable time tackling the issue of speeding in their local community. This has resulted in a large reduction of the number of calls to the police regarding speeding.’
