A SERIES of free environmental events are taking place across Fareham this month.

Groundwork Solent, in partnership with Fareham Borough Council, the Environment Agency, and Hampshire County Council is organising the events.

They’re taking place along the shoreline of Hook-with-Warsash Local Nature Reserve (LNR), and around Hook Lake, with the aim of raising the profile of one of Fareham’s hidden treasures.

The 500-acre site, contains a variety of important habitats from mudflats to grassland and mature woodland, which are home to an array of rare plants and wildlife.

Five free environmental events are being run in the area as part of pilot scheme, The Warsash & Locks Heath Streams Project, to help people living nearby become more involved with their local green space.
