CYCLISTS who pedalled more than 30 miles across the countryside raised almost £3,000 for charity.

The Denmead Cycle Ride, which took place this summer, attracted cyclists from across Hampshire.

They gathered at the Harvest Home pub to enjoy food and all-day live music. In total £2,800 was raised for the MS Society and the Salvation Army.

Nick Constable was given an award for his contribution to the charity. Andrew Abbinett raised the most sponsorship money with £158 and Christine Hicks, from the Harvest Home, was honoured for her commitment to the annual cycle ride.
