A MOTORCYCLIST who died in a crash yesterday has been named.

He was Timothy Barfoot, 41, of Shakespeare Road, Eastleigh.

At 1.45pm yesterday, Timothy was riding a blue Suzuki GXSR motorcycle travelling on the B1277 Winchester Road towards Bishop Waltham from Waltham Chase, when it was in collision with a silver BMW heading in the same direction.

Timothy was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 23-year-old woman driving the BMW was treated for shock at the scene.

Police are continuing their appeal for witnesses and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle driving prior to it.

Police are appealing for anyone with information, especially those who may have seen the collision but didn’t stop or reported it at that time, to contact Inspector Steve Wakeford at Fratton Roads Policing unit on 101 quoting Operation Betula.
