Billy's got talent – just like his big sister Bessie

New breakfast club launches in Portsmouth to help lonely veterans

Billy Cursons was just five years old when he saw his older sister Bessie take the nation by storm as she got through to the final of Britain's Got Talent.

But Billy, from Cosham, is determined to prove he has talent of his own as he looks to follow in his sister's footsteps.

After appearing in a music video for music superstars Coldplay last month, he has been busy auditioning for TV adverts.

He attended two auditions in London last week and has already been put on a shortlist to star in a new tomato ketchup advert for Heinz.

Sarah Cursons, 41, Billy's mum, said: 'Billy is totally different from Bessie – he is just taking it all in his stride and is really enjoying it.

'He loves the thought of doing the same thing as his sister. When he got his first pay cheque he was so excited.

'He says he wants to save it for a limo with a jacuzzi in the back!'

Billy was waiting with his mum outside Bessie's school – the Sylvia Young Theatre School in London – when he was spotted by a talent agency.

After that he was offered a role in Coldplay's Life in Technicolor II video.

In the video he is seen watching Coldplay's puppet show as the camera zooms in on him.

The seven-year-old is happy to keep his options open. He goes to boxing classes twice a week and also does tap dancing.

Billy said: 'I was really excited about the auditions. I was scared at first but I was OK in the end – it was fun.

'I enjoy my boxing but I really want to get into films.'

Billy's dad Andy, 41, added: 'He wants to follow in Bessie's path – he was so excited after he did the Coldplay video and then he got the auditions so he was just over the moon.

'He found the experience great and he has really got the taste for it now.'
