A STREET party marked the start of a £10,000 fundraising drive.

The party was held on Sunday in Bishop’s Waltham by The Southern Co-operative.

It hopes to raise £10,000 for two good causes - Bishop’s Waltham in Bloom and Swanmore Pre-School - through its Community Support Card scheme.

The store’s community card champion Danielle Theron said: ‘To help us reach our target, customers need to ask for a free card in either of our stores here, and have this swiped each time they shop. The more swipes, the quicker The Southern Co-operative donates the funds.’

The free street party, in St George’s Square, saw a barbecue, cake stalls, craft activities, bouncy castle and a disco.
