FIREFIGHTERS have been damping down the remains of a huge fire at scrubland.

Around 20 firefighters worked at Browndown Range, in Gosport, all day yesterday to make sure the blaze is out.

As reported, the fire broke out at 7.45pm on Thursday and took hold across an acre.

Meanwhile, a crew from Southsea went to Wellington Terrace at 5.40pm to a report of a kitchen fire but it was just an overheated pan.
