Children at a Portsmouth junior school have embraced Blue Day.

Pupils at Lyndhurst Junior School, Mayfield Road, North End, took a day off from wearing their school uniform and dressed in blue to raise money for the Tom Prince Cancer Trust.

Margaret Beel, headteacher, said: ‘The children decided they wanted to do Blue Day and it is for a fantastic cause.

‘I think it is brilliant that we are raising money for a local charity.

‘The children have loved it.’
