COUNCIL leaders have put paid to rumours that beaches in Bognor Regis are being used for filming the new James Bond movie.

The town was shaken and stirred by national press reports which stated the latest 007 blockbuster Skyfall will feature the resort.

A source from the film was quoted in a newspaper saying: ‘As well as Pinewood’s incredible facilities, the UK has some stunning beaches, particularly along the south coast near Bognor and parts of Wales.’

The report suggested Britain’s beaches were being used instead of worldwide locations to save money.

Officials at Arun District Council said they had received no requests to film on the beach.

Council leader Gillian Brown said: ‘We’ve had no direct contact from the filming company and they won’t comment on locations until after the film is released.’

A spokeswoman for the production company, Eon Productions Ltd, said: ‘We don’t comment on any of the locations where we may or may not have shot.’
