Book characters make a visit to Southsea library very special

TELEVISION characters from a popular children’s television show were at a city library to help with story time.

Ben and Holly, from Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom, were at Southsea Library, Palmerston Road, Southsea, to sit with the children as they enjoyed being read to.

The characters were in the city ahead of the show at the King Theatre’s, Albert Road, Southsea, on April 19.

Sandra Smith, group bookings and promotions manager for the King’s Theatre, said: ‘It was very successful.

‘We had a big attendance and the children were really excited about meeting Ben & Holly.

‘They enjoyed the storytelling by library assistant Kerry Wheatley.

‘After seeing how successful it was, we are hoping to do this sort of thing more often with other children’s characters.

‘The parents asked if we would be doing this again as they thought it was great way to treat the children.

‘They sat there perfectly and were really enjoying the story but having Ben and Holly there made it extra special.

‘Now we’ve done this, I am looking forward to the show even more and I bet the children cannot wait either.’

Tickets for the show can be bought at kings-southsea.com.

Two showings will be held.
