THOUSANDS of pounds has been awarded to a bowling club to help buy new kitchen units.

The Lockswood Bowling Club has received £4,000 in funding from Fareham Borough Council to assist with purchasing new kitchen units and furnish its recently-extended building.

The total cost of the project is £9,111.

The club has already received £1,000 from Cllr Sean Woodward’s county council fund and has also made an application to county councillor Keith Evans.

The remainder of the funds will be raised by the club itself.
