BOWLS enthusiasts raised hundreds of pounds for life-saving sea rescue volunteers.

Gosport Bowling Club staged an Easter event at their clubhouse on Sunday.

The event was officially opened by Councillor Peter Edgar, who is also the chairman of the Solent Sea Rescue Organisation.

A total of £337 was raised on the day for the Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service, which is the nominated charity of this year’s club president.

The president, Jack Wilcock, has set a target of £1,500 he wants to raise for the lifeboat charity by the end of the year.
