ATHLETES laced up their racing shoes for a mammoth challenge in aid of worthy causes.

The team, made up of boxers and gym users at Back to Fitness Gym, in London Road, Waterlooville, ran from Land’s End to Waterlooville in a bid to raise cash for The Rowans Hospice.

The daring athletes ran along the coast and managed to clock up 318 miles over four days. Upon their arrival on Saturday they held a Rowans Hospice banner aloft.

So far the team has managed to raise a total of £3,900.

Chris Warren Jnr, 37, who took part in the challenge with his dad Chris Warren Snr, 62, said: ‘It was incredibly tough going but we all enjoyed it.’
