A TEENAGER has died after being in collision with a car on the A3.
The 17-year-old boy died after he was in collision with a car on the A3 at Petersfield last night (Saturday, September 12).
Police were called at 9.08pm following the incident on the southbound carriageway.
It is believed that the 17-year-old fell from an overhead bridge and was in collision with a Kia Cee’d car driven by a 61-year-old man from Waterlooville.
Neither the driver nor his wife, who was a passenger in the car, were injured.
The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.
The boy has not yet been named by police.
A spokesman for Hampshire police said: ‘A post mortem examination will be conducted in due course. We are not in a position to confirm his identity yet, and officers are supporting his family.
‘Officers from the Roads Policing Unit have spoken to some witnesses but urge anyone who saw the incident and has not come forward yet to please call on 101, quoting Operation Lockness.’
