FAREHAM Mayoress Carole Steadman is on top-of-the-world after abseiling down the Spinnaker Tower.
The 69-year-old scaled the landmark yesterday with Tom and Sam Ralls – sons of Fareham FC chairman Nick Rawls.
Her brave feat will boost Southampton General Hospital’s Wessex Heartbeat charity, which provides care for patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases.
She said: ‘I loved it! It seems a long time going down and I want to do it all again.
‘As I went down, I had my hand on my heart and said I’m doing this for Wessex Heartbeat.’
Husband Dennis, mayor of Fareham, said he was ‘proud’.
