RESIDENTS who attend a popular friendship club for older people will benefit from a new kitchen thanks to a generous cash donation.

The Gosport division of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes donated £500 to the Brendoncare Gosport Thursday Club.

The money will go towards a kitchen refurbishment at The Lutman Day Centre, in Willis Road, Gosport, where the club meets.

Brendoncare is a care charity for older people.

The charity’s community fundraiser Lisa Fletcher said: ‘This is an absolutely fantastic donation and we’re very grateful.

‘The money will make a real contribution towards the kitchen.

‘It will be well spent.

‘Our aim is to help older people maintain their independence, improve their quality of life and have fun.’

Brendoncare runs a number of care centres throughout Hampshire.

The charity also organises friendship clubs in other venues.

There are eight of these clubs which meet at The Lutman Day Centre on a weekly, fortnightly and monthly basis.

For more information on volunteering for the charity or if you want to join one of the clubs visit brendoncare.org.uk or call 01962 877772.
