A BUILDER has been taken to hospital with spinal injuries after falling from the second floor of a building.

The 26-year-old male had been working on an empty property in Elm Grove, Southsea, next to the Relentless restaurant.

He fell from the second floor on to the first floor, where he suspected to have sustained injuries to his spine and pelvis.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service sent three crews – two from Southsea and one from Cosham – alongside the aerial ladder platform and the special equipment unit, to assist the ambulance service to help bring the builder down.

South Central Ambulance Service sent ambulances and the Hazardous Area Response Team.

The man was taken on a spinal board to hospital for further treatment.
