WITH the approach of Cowes Week and thousands of boats expected in the Solent, Hamble Lifeboat has been given a new, lightweight salvage pump.

Hendy Honda Marine, part of Hendy Power, visited the independent lifeboat based in the Hamble River and presented the new piece of equipment.

Graham Kirk, director of Hendy Power, said: ‘Hendy Power and Hendy Honda Marine are proud to be supporting the Hamble Lifeboat.

‘We have managed, with the help of Honda UK, to obtain a water pump, which, I’m sure will be very usefully in their activities in the coming years.’

The lifeboat service relies on donations from members of the public.
