Cafe of the year: shortlist revealed – time to get voting

The Cafe of the Year competition is hotting up – could your favourite eatery be crowned winner?

This is when we ask readers of The News to vote for the best of the bangers, the cream of the cuppas, and tell us which cafe really takes the bacon as the best in the area.

Up until now it’s been about the nominations, but we have deliberated, cogitated and come up with a list of those you have judged as being worthy of the title.

Some were nominated for their outstanding food, while others were submitted because of their attention to detail and fantastic customer service.

We’ve received over 1,200 nominations and now we need you to do one more thing – vote for your winner.

All you need to do is pick your favourite entry, fill out the form and send it back to us, or send us a text message, by 10am on September 1.

Once the votes are in, a panel of judges will decide which cafe, out of the three with the most nominations, should be named winner.

The winning cafe will be presented with a trophy and be featured in The News.

Editor of The News Mark Waldron said: ‘We have some fantastic cafes in our area and it’s about time their hard work in keeping everyone going was recognised.

‘I don’t know how the judges will be able to make a decision, as just by looking at the list it’s obvious how tough the competition is.

‘I’d encourage everyone to fill out the form to support their favourite cafe.’

VOTE BY POST

Pick up a copy of The News today and fill in the form on page 12, then send it back to us: Café of the Year, Promotions Dept, The News, 1000 Lakeside, Western Road, Portsmouth, Hampshire, PO6 3EN.
