Care home wins gold in hospitality contest

TOP DOGS Parker Meadows care home is celebrating after winning a top award for its standards in food and cleanliness

TOP DOGS Parker Meadows care home is celebrating after winning a top award for its standards in food and cleanliness

A LUXURY care home has been awarded a national gold award for catering, hospitality and housekeeping.

Parker Meadows care home in Redlands Lane, Fareham, has been awarded the Gold CAP Award and is now at the top of the league table for care homes.

The CAP Awards recognise excellence in food and cleanliness in the care industry.

Ian Jackson, inspector for The CAP Awards, said: ‘The team at Parker Meadows truly impressed. We have a set of strict criteria based on government and industry guidelines which I am pleased to say that Parker Meadows more than met. I was genuinely impressed by the standards that I witnessed.’

Gracewell Healthcare CEO Peter Curtis said: ‘I’m so proud of all the team – it’s fantastic that their efforts have been recognised.’

The 80-bed home opened last summer on the site of the old Tom Parker Dairy.
