A HAVANT hairdresser has won a silver prize in a nationwide hairdressing competition judged by some of the industry’s biggest names.

Emily Warne, co-owner of Headromance in Park Road South, won silver in the Creative Colourist category at the celebrated Color Zoom 2014 event, which was recently held in central London.

The competition, led by professional colour brand Goldwell, invites colourists from all over the UK to interpret a key world trend.

This year’s challenge required entrants to use colour products to create a look on a model that demonstrated an individual interpretation of a brief inspired by optical illusion.

Hundreds of photographic entries were whittled down
to five finalists in each category.

The entries were judged by leading industry names.

Emily said: ‘I’m so incredibly happy to have won silver.

‘I put my heart and soul into creating a look that I felt encapsulated the brief.

‘To have that personally acknowledged by some of my hairdressing idols is the best reward.

‘I’m delighted to take this prize back to Headromance – I could not have done it without the support of our wonderful team.’

It’s the third success this month for the salon.

Earlier in July, the salon took the Reader’s Choice Award at the The News’ annual Hair & Beauty Awards.

The team has also been shortlisted in the southern category at the British Hairdressing Awards, which take place in November.
