Dance DJ plans electrifying set at Goodwood event

THEIR DJ set had to be cancelled last year because of a power cut, but dance-music giants Groove Armada are set to make a triumphant return to this year’s Three Friday Nights event at Goodwood.

Goodwood Racecourse, near Chichester, has confirmed the top artists who will DJ at the third year of its Three Friday Nights, which sees an evening of horse racing followed by a DJ set with the Parade Ring transformed into a dance floor, complete with a spectacular laser show.

Groove Armada’s Andy Cato will play his set on June 14, with up-and-coming East London quartet Rudimental performing on May 31 and Radio 1 DJ Trevor Nelson on June 21.

Goodwood Racecourse managing director Adam Waterworth said: ‘We’re thrilled to be celebrating the third year of the Three Friday Nights at Goodwood.

‘We love the mix of the adrenaline of horse racing combined with the buzz created by these world-renowned DJs.

‘It was a huge disappointment to all involved that Andy Cato was unable to DJ last year due to regional power cuts. We, and he, are delighted we have been able to arrange for him to return and finish the job this year.

‘I am confident that this year will be our best year yet.’

Last year, more than 20,000 joined in with the festivities, which have seen acts including Mark Ronson, Mike Skinner and Boy George taking to the decks.

Tickets for each of the nights go on sale from 9am on Monday and start at £25 in advance.

There is also limited availability of a pass for all Three Friday Nights, for £60.

Three Friday Nights forms part of 19 days of racing offered at Goodwood over the season from May 4 through to October. For tickets and hospitality visit goodwood.com or call 01243 755055.
