Districts feature in list of top places to live in UK

FAREHAM has been named in the top 50 best places to live in the United Kingdom.

The annual Halifax Quality of Life survey compares places using factors such as educational achievement, how much residents earn and the cost of property.

Fareham came in at number 49, followed by Havant which ranked 145 and Gosport at 155. A total of 250 places are ranked. Portsmouth was not placed.

Hart in north Hampshire was named the best place to live, and was closely followed by Winchester and Eastleigh.

Brighton and Hove ranked 249.
