FOUR schools have been awarded thousands of pounds worth of equipment as part of a supermarket token scheme.

Fareham MP Mark Hoban presented the four biggest beneficiaries in the area - Harrison Primary, Redlands Primary, Uplands Primary and Orchard Lea Infants – with their products at Tesco in Fareham.

The Tesco for Schools and Clubs Promotion works when people collect vouchers everytime they shop and then donate them to their chosen school.

Schools can then redeem vouchers in exchange for equipment such as instruments, computers and sports kit.

More than 40,000 schools and clubs in the UK take part and last year Tesco gave away over 450,000 pieces of equipment.
