Fareham schools get equipment thanks to supermarket

SCHOOLS will be given new equipment thanks to a supermarket promotion.

Harrison Primary, Redlands Primary, Uplands Primary and Orchard Lea Infants will be presented with new equipment earned through the Tesco for Schools and Clubs Promotion. They were the schools that collected the most vouchers in the area.

The incentive enables schools to redeem vouchers in exchange for equipment such as instruments, computers and sports kit. More than 40,000 schools and clubs in the UK take part in the programme.

Last year Tesco gave away over 450,000 pieces of equipment worth £9.2m.

Simon Beale, store manager at Tesco off Quay Street, Fareham, where the presentation will take place tomorrow, said: ‘This is a scheme which my team are proud to be part of.

‘Thousands of customers have been collecting vouchers to help schools and clubs get new equipment showing what happens when a whole community gets involved.’

Mr Hoban will be at Tesco in Fareham at 11am tomorrow.
