A WOMAN who set a business up a year ago has spoken of the challenges she faced – and how she got over them.
Kathy Fitchett began the Food Fiend Experience in her kitchen in Hayling Island, offering cookery courses for those looking to learn new skills or businesses looking for team-building exercises.
But uptake was limited, which led to Kathy finding a different way to run her food business
She said: ‘It’s been a bit of a strange year.
‘I am now running workshops and training courses to help small business owners grow their firms.
‘It can be really expensive to find courses so this was a way for me to learn to help my business, as well as helping others in my position.
‘My background is in running events and finding sponsors so this is something that I can do.’
Kathy is now linking up with other organisations to run networking events with food, wine and entertainment as a central theme.
She added: ‘The key thing for me is still my food. I’m doing different things but that’s still central.’
