Millions to be raised for the local economy

A BUSINESS match-making day that last year generated deals in Hampshire worth an estimated £2.3m is set to be repeated.

The event, run by Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, brings major organisations who buy business services face to face with local suppliers.

More than 20 buyers are already confirmed for this year including Hampshire County Council, facilities management company Fasset, support services provider Lakehouse and property services specialist Osborne.

The South Hampshire ‘Meet the Buyers’ event is funded annually by a partnership of local authorities and takes place at the Rose Bowl, Southampton, on Thursday, March 29.

Denise Barlow, of Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, said: ‘Last year more than 110 suppliers met with 23 buyers, prompting an estimated £2.3m worth of business as a result.

‘This year we want to do even better.

‘We want more small and medium-sized bausinesses to try and win contracts, so creating growth and prosperity for Hampshire.’
