A NEW contract for the Post Office to continue providing vehicle tax discs has been welcomed as good news for rural communities.
Meon Valley MP George Hollingbery said: ‘Local post offices sit at the heart of community life and I have long campaigned to help them survive and thrive. This decision will make life easier for everyone who drives, especially in rural areas like the Meon Valley, and it is a boost for Post Offices which need business like this to attract custom and prosper.’
The Driver Vehicle Licensing Agency signed a seven-year contract worth £450m.
