HOMELESSNESS in East Hampshire is on the rise, according to a report.
East Hampshire District Council said several families had approached them this winter saying they had nowhere to live.
A report due to go before a full council meeting tomorrow said: ‘Numbers being placed into B&B continue to rise with there currently being two households staying in B&B.
‘During January three households were placed into B&B and one of these was considered to be a rough sleeper and was placed into B&B following the bitterly cold weather.’
The report states some families have had to be accommodated outside East Hampshire due to lack of spaces.
It adds: ‘During January, over 22 working days, 136 customers visited Penns Place for housing advice.
‘Of these, 106 had concerns about losing their current home at some point during the coming months.’
