Pompey boss braced for administration
Pompey are close to going into administration for the second time in two years
Michael Appleton has admitted he is prepared for Pompey to go into administration.
The News understands that debenture holder Balram Chainrai is close to carrying out the action.
The move would put off the HMRC winding-up petition hearing scheduled for Monday, February 20 but would see Pompey hit with a points deduction.
It would also be the second time Chainrai has put Pompey into administration.
And Appleton today said Pompey must get ready for the scenario.
The Blues boss said: ‘We have to make sure we’re prepared (for administration).
‘If it does happen, we’ll deal with it and do everything to keep the spirit and morale of the club in place. We need as many points in the bag as possible.’

Friday, February 10, 2012 at 11:20 AMIt pains me to say this as a passionate Saints fan (went to school there so had no choice) but Pompey fans have the most loyal, loudest and passionate fans in any football club anywhere. You guys don't deserve the rubbish going on at the moment. Rarry Headnap seems to have done very well off of Pompey as have many current and former players. So has the administrator RAC or whatever he is called and as for the recent owners, some I understand we never even got to see what they look like never mind what they picked off from the finances. So it is 100% confirmed adminstration? Why isn't Sky Sports News broadcasting about it? Keep the faith. Going down to league one is the best thing that happened to us and I hope good things will sprout from acorns. I know I will get flak from some idiots who claim to support my team but I have no qualms over saying this. When you play Saints, I hope you loose big time but apart from that game, Play up Pompey, Pompey Play up :-).

Friday, February 10, 2012 at 10:08 AM@Bobsworth post 135................................."Please don't knock fans for their passion" Would you explain what you mean by the above ....as I haven't a clue .........My question and observations were specifically directed at another poster in respect of his criticism of The News.... My comments had nothing to do with Pompey, or football for that matter, so how they can be construed as an attack on fans " for their passion" is beyond me
