Port is now even better connected than before
A LUXURY coach service has begun calling at Portsmouth International Port.
The Greyhound service between Portsmouth and London will now be calling right outside the port’s new terminal for seven round trips a day on weekdays and Saturdays and six trips in each direction on Sundays.
The port believes that the new Hindhead Tunnel on the A3 in Surrey is part of the decision to put the port on Greyhound’s route map.
Martin Putman, manager of Portsmouth International Port, said: ‘It’s obvious that customer demand has led Greyhound to call at the port, and strengthen its services to and from Portsmouth.
‘We’re delighted that our passengers now have an even greater choice of direct coaches to and from the capital, with even faster journeys thanks to the Hindhead Tunnel.’
The addition of Greyhound makes a total of 21 coaches now arriving and leaving for London, Gatwick and Poole every day at Portsmouth International Port.
The National Express coach company runs nine daily services to and from the port, as well as coaches to London and the north west.
