THERE was a party atmosphere at Milton’s Lloyds TSB Bank branch as staff marked 100 years of banking.

Yesterday marked the 100th year a bank has been based at its location in Eastney Road, Milton.

It opened as a Capital and Counties bank in 1912 before it was absorbed by Lloyds in 1918.

It became a full branch in 1952.

Customers were greeted with balloons, banners and sweets as staff marked the occasion. There was also a cake for staff.

Lynda Sheffield, a customer service advisor at the bank, said: ‘It’s a very happy branch here in Milton.

‘We are the only bank in this vicinity serving the public of Milton, who are incredibly loyal.’
